About me
I am a UKCP-registered Integrative Psychotherapist offering therapy in person in Walthamstow as well as online. I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma and addiction, as well as more complex and longstanding patterns of difficulty.
My approach is relational and integrative, drawing particularly on psychodynamic, humanistic and existential thinking. I am interested not only in what is happening in your life now, but in understanding how your past experiences, relationships and ways of coping have shaped how you see yourself and others.
Throughout my training and clinical experience, I have been drawn to asking questions about our deepest human experiences, our unconscious processes, and how we develop our sense of self and meaning.
What to expect
I offer a space to explore what is going on for you right now including how you relate to yourself and others, while also making links between your past and present to better understand how past relationships and experiences may be continuing to influence your current life.
Becoming more aware of longstanding ways of coping can sometimes bring up feelings of grief and loss for what you have been through, but it can also create greater self-understanding and compassion.
I support clients to use their own strengths and resources to navigate difficulties, while also drawing on my training and clinical experience to help clients make sense of what they are experiencing and to support the therapeutic process.
I believe therapy offers an opportunity to be deeply in touch with who we are. Through developing greater self-understanding and awareness of our patterns of relating, we can begin to have more choice and experiment with new ways of being.
My experience
I currently work as a psychotherapist in private practice, but I also have experience providing psychotherapy within a research clinic as well as the NHS where I provided weekly therapy to individuals struggling with substance misuse within a Drugs and Alcohol Service.
Prior to entering psychotherapy, I spent many years working in senior communications roles within the government and global luxury businesses which has given me an understanding of the pressures associated with demanding professional environments.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer short and long-term individual weekly counselling and psychotherapy both online and in-person. Finding a therapist you feel comfortable working with can be daunting, so I offer an initial 20-minute telephone conversation to meet one another and see how we may be able to work together.
