About me
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you have been managing things on your own for a long time. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure about what to do next. Many people reach out for counselling when life becomes difficult to navigate alone, or when they want a safe space to better understand themselves.
I offer a calm, confidential environment where you can talk openly and explore what is going on for you without judgement.
I work using a person-centred approach, which means therapy moves at your pace. Rather than directing or diagnosing, I focus on creating a supportive therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and understood.
Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that helps you develop greater clarity, self-awareness, and emotional resilience.

I am a person-centred psychotherapist, supporting professionals and young people (11+) with challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, stress, loneliness, social anxiety, health anxiety, life transitions, and perfectionism. My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and always tailored to your individual needs—helping you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
With over 20 years of experience as a project manager and teacher before becoming a therapist, I understand first-hand the pressures of demanding environments—tight deadlines, competing priorities, and the toll stress can take on mental health. I now use this knowledge to help professionals manage workplace stress, overcome perfectionism, and create healthier work-life balance.
Alongside this, I am passionate about working with young people. I offer a safe and understanding space for them to explore their feelings, build self-confidence, and develop coping strategies for anxiety, stress, and self-doubt.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold the following qualifications:
MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
BSc in Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University
In addition to my professional qualifications, I bring over two decades of experience as a teacher and project manager. This background equips me with a unique perspective on workplace stress and interpersonal challenges, which I incorporate into my work with clients.
My experience also includes placements working with adults, children, and young people across various modalities, including face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling. Additionally, my work as a peer support worker and lived experience forum coordinator at TOG Mind has deepened my understanding of mental health and the transformative power of therapy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
