About me
You might feel stuck, even when you know what you should do. On the outside, you may appear capable and coping, while inside you’re overthinking, doubting yourself, or holding back because you’re worried about getting things wrong.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, high-functioning and used to managing; but feel frustrated that having high standards either stops them from moving forward, or makes them feel like no matter how much they're doing, they're still not good enough.
You might recognise yourself if:
✓ You put pressure on yourself to do things properly
✓ You overthink decisions and struggle to get started
✓ You delay action until you feel more confident or certain
✓ Others see you as capable, but you feel stuck or behind
✓ You often tell yourself you should be coping better
Perfectionism, anxiety, and overthinking often develop as ways of trying to stay safe or avoid mistakes, but over time they can leave you feeling blocked and exhausted.
Therapy offers space to slow things down, understand what’s keeping you stuck, and begin to take steps forward without everything needing to feel right or perfect first. The aim isn’t to push you harder, but to help you move in a way that feels achievable, manageable, and more compassionate.
You might be used to handling things on your own, so even considering reaching out could feel uncomfortable. Perhaps part of you feels you should be able to sort this out by yourself, or worries that engaging in therapy means admitting to 'failure'.
You don’t need to have the right words or be sure this is the right step. If something here has struck a chord, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can start from where you are.
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a fully qualified, BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over 10 years’ experience helping people navigate life’s challenges. My academic background includes:
- BSc (Hons) Psychology - The Open University
- Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT - University of Essex
- Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - University of East Anglia
These qualifications gave me a strong grounding in evidence-based therapy, which I continue to develop through regular training, supervision, and reflective practice.
Before specialising in CBT, I worked in a variety of health, education, and mental health settings, supporting children with special educational needs, working with young people and families through the cleft lip and palate service, and helping adults recover from burn injuries. These experiences taught me how emotional wellbeing is woven into every part of life, and how resilience can be built in many different ways.
Since 2019, I’ve worked within NHS Talking Therapies, supporting people with anxiety, low mood, panic, stress, and the everyday struggles that can feel overwhelming. This range of experience has shaped my approach as a therapist - flexible, empathetic, and ready to meet you wherever you are in your journey.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
