About me
Are you suffering with overwhelming feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, feeling fed up or like things don't feel right or aren't making sense anymore? If so then please read on. My name is Gemma, and I am a BACP qualified integrative Counsellor. I offer both short- and long-term therapy for adults aged 18 and over. I provide face-to-face sessions in Wimbledon and virtual sessions nationally and abroad.
In our work together, you’ll find a safe, none judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and challenges. Issues associated with disconnection to the world around us and to ourselves can cause so much distress that being able to understand these underlying issues is fundamental to us living happy and fulfilled lives. I aim to help you make sense of your life and situation by looking at patterns from the past that may be blocking you living more authentically and joyfully in your life today. With the aim to support you taking control back of your life to build the future you choose not the one you've adapted to.
You have already taken the hardest step in seeking help, so please do get in touch and start living the life you deserve.
Training, qualifications & experience
Becoming a counsellor has been a meaningful journey driven by personal experiences.
Originally from London and raised in Spain, I learned early on about the impacts of difference and diversity. I moved back to the UK in 2004 to begin my studies. I volunteer at the mental health charity Mind and have my own private practice.
I am an integrative and attachment focused therapist meaning I draw on different modalities that are tailored to the needs of my clients. I believe how we show up in the world is related to our experiences with our earliest attachment figures and therefore understanding our defences and perceptions of ourselves in the world can create incredible shifts in how we then choose to live once we have this awareness and guidance.
I also believe that losing connection is easy to do in this day and age. I work holistically to support this reintegration of self with the use of mind/body connection in my practice so you can learn ways to come out of survival and start living joyfully again.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I believe our environments, experiences, and relationships—especially our relationship with ourselves—greatly influence our identities. Therefore, the therapeutic relationship is crucial to the healing process. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or low self-worth, I commend you for taking this important first step toward change. Recognizing the need for help is often one of the hardest things to do, something I have experienced myself.
