About me

Some people come to counselling knowing exactly what they want to address, while others simply know they could use some support. Both can be challenging, but whatever you need, you are not alone.

We can explore what's on your mind at a pace that feels right for you, helping you to understand yourself better and move towards a place of greater peace and well-being.

I offer both online and in-person sessions for adults, from two welcoming counselling rooms in Sevenoaks.

For London clients I am currently offering online sessions only.

If you are considering counselling, I suggest a free 15-minute initial consultation by phone, where we can introduce ourselves. We can talk through what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve.

It is also a chance for us to explore whether we feel comfortable working together and to see if my Humanistic approach feels like a good fit for you.

If you decide you would like to continue, we will schedule a regular weekly session time. Our first session includes an assessment and a working agreement. From there, I will invite you to share what has brought you to counselling in a way that feels most comfortable for you.

Therapy can be short-term or long-term, depending on your needs, we can discuss this at the start. Either way I recommend a regular review to check in and see how you feel about the progress we’re making.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My approach is gentle and consistent.

I am curious to hear about you and understand your experience.

Through my journey and in working with others, I believe that a genuine, supportive therapeutic relationship can be incredibly healing.

I believe that you are the expert on yourself and have an inherent capacity for personal growth. That with the right support, you can find your own way forward.

I am fascinated in how we store emotions in the body and how we can work to release them. I may invite you to notice your thoughts, emotions and body sensations as they arise.
