About me

Hello and welcome my name is Garon Sheppard a Bicester based Counsellor near Banbury,Oxford,Aylesbury.

Taking this first step can be empowering and may feel a bit scary at the same time, but the best results are achieved by talking it out, with the assurance of knowing that you will not be judged, but met with empathy and understanding.
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

My approach is to treat each person as an individual. Everyone is treated with respect and discretion
Exploring the way you think and feel can develop your emotional intelligence and give you the knowledge to bring about the resolution you seek.
I am an individual and a therapist that believes change is possible.

We often find that we hold the answers inside ourselves, but sometimes a little help is needed to gain clarity. Sometimes, just one appointment can put you back on track, so I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on your needs.
As a therapist, I offer understanding, clarity and empathy.
I can offer you a confidential place to explore issues and feelings without any pressure or judgement.
In doing so it can help reduce confusion and encourage proactive change and to help you move forward.

Counselling provides an opportunity to explore your issues, what's going on for you, in a non-judgemental and empathic setting.
It offers time and space in a confidential environment in which you are empowered and enabled to talk about, think through, and manage your anguish. Discussing your feelings can help reduce stress and help you to feel more relaxed and able to think more clearly.
You are in control of your Counselling experience, choosing what you want to discuss and deciding what you want to achieve.

There are many reasons why people come to Counselling. Whether you need help dealing with specific issues and concerns in your life, you are suffering after the loss of a loved one or you just need someone to talk to about your experiences. Whatever the reason, you can speak to a professional Counsellor in a comfortable environment.
Experiences and problems that we face can create feelings of unhappiness such as stress, low mood and a loss of control or direction in our lives. It can also be difficult to truly share our thoughts and feelings with our friends and family.

My counselling approach is mainly from a Person-Centred perspective, however, Cognitive Behavioural and Psychodynamic Therapies are integrated as well as holistic therapies, including Reiki and Mindfulness as and when required.
In addition to face-to-face counselling, I can also offer a range of access opportunities for counselling Including over the telephone, online and outreach if required. Helping you reflect and develop ways to move forward, tailoring each session to meet your individual needs.
I will support you in finding solutions or finding a change in your life where required...
I will accept and respect you for who you are which will help you to feel more confident and improve your self-worth.

I am passionate about creating a safe and non-judgemental and confidential space in which you feel comfortable to explore the issues and concerns you are facing at present.
Everyone is the expert of their own life and it’s my job to help you to make the changes that are important to you. I can offer confidential supportive counselling for a range of issues including bereavement, depression, anxiety,
addiction, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse.
I offer short/fixed-term counselling as well as long term counselling. I can offer sessions on a weekly basis to clients.

I am also a qualified Reiki Master Teacher trained by using the form of Usui Shiki Ryoho.
Reiki is simply a relaxing therapy, some people have Reiki because they are stressed, feeling anxious, or grieving, others need more balance or clarity in life.
Reiki is helpful for all – you don't need a reason to receive it.
I find that using both therapies work very well within the therapy process of releasing any stresses or worries.
