About me
Individual & Couples Therapy – Online & Face-to-Face
Hi, I’m Gareth. I provide a warm, grounded, and deeply inclusive space where the "whole you" is welcomed. Whether you are navigating life as an individual or looking to strengthen your partnership, I am here to walk alongside you with empathy and presence.
Tailored Support for Your Journey
I offer therapy both online across the UK and in-person in Doncaster. My practice, Rainbow Hearts Counselling, is built on the belief that therapy should be a collaborative, respectful partnership—not a clinical diagnosis.
LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy: As a queer therapist, I am committed to providing a safe, celebratory space for all gender, sexuality, and relationship diversities (GSRD).
Couples Counselling: I help partners navigate communication hurdles, life transitions, and emotional disconnection.
Individual Support: While I support clients through a vast range of life’s challenges, I frequently work with those navigating: Anxiety & Overwhelm, Identity & Self-Esteem, Grief & Loss, Depression & Low Mood and Relational Trauma.
A Space for Everyone
While I am a specialist in queer-affirming care, my door is open to everyone. People come to therapy for many reasons, and no two stories are the same. Whether you are bringing joy, pain, confusion, or humour, nothing is "too much" and nothing needs to be "fixed" to be worthy of care.
Reaching out can feel daunting, but you don't have to carry your burdens alone. I invite you to contact me for a free initial consultation to see how we can work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
My practice is built on a foundation of over five years of direct client support. This includes four years as an integrative counsellor and a formative year as a crisis volunteer, where I supported individuals at their most vulnerable points. This experience allows me to remain steady and present with you, no matter how difficult or complex your situation may feel.
I work from an integrative perspective, which means I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I blend person-centred values with behavioural and creative tools, ensuring our sessions are always shaped by your unique needs and goals. Whether we are working through long-term patterns or navigating an immediate crisis, my focus is on providing a safe, ethical, and compassionate environment.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I believe the right "fit" is essential for successful therapy. Reaching out is a no-pressure opportunity for us to meet, discuss what you’re looking for, and see how we might work together. I believe that financial circumstances shouldn’t be a barrier to accessing high-quality support. If my standard fee is currently out of reach for you, I’m happy to discuss a fee that feels sustainable for your circumstances.
