About me
If you've found yourself here, chances are you've been carrying things around in your own head for quite a while.
Maybe you've become good at coping. On paper life looks fine. You hold everything together, look after everyone else and keep going because that's what you've always done.
But underneath it all, you're exhausted, anxious, stuck, questioning yourself or wondering why life feels so much harder than it seems to for everyone else.
Sometimes there isn't one big reason. Sometimes it's years of putting yourself last, a relationship that's changed, menopause, burnout, grief, a growing sense that you've lost who you are, or perhaps you're beginning to wonder whether ADHD has been part of your story all along.
Whatever brings you here, you don't need to have it all worked out before we meet.
I'm a person-centred counsellor, which means our sessions start with you rather than a technique or agenda. But being person-centred doesn't mean I'll simply sit quietly and nod. I'll ask questions, gently challenge you when it feels helpful, and I'll often share what I'm noticing in the room. If I see a pattern, I'll say so. If something doesn't quite fit, we'll explore it together.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation rather than a clinical process.
I'm particularly interested in the stories we tell ourselves, the roles we've taken on throughout life, and the patterns that keep repeating in our relationships, work and everyday lives. Increasingly, I work with adults exploring a later ADHD diagnosis, helping them understand themselves with greater compassion and make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing for years.
My hope isn't to "fix" you. It's to help you understand yourself more deeply, communicate more honestly, and feel more able to live in a way that fits who you really are.
I offer counselling for adults, young people (16+) and couples, either online or from my counselling room at Space at the Quay in Beccles.
