About me
I work with clients on a range of different issues from everyday work and relationship problems to trauma and mental heath problems. I can provide both short or long term care.
The form of psychotherapy I use is based on the work of Carl Jung and is known as analytical psychotherapy. It belongs to the psychodynamic school of psychotherapy. I also use EMDR therapy to address a range of issues from complex trauma to anxiety and depression.
Jung's approach to analysis centres around the relationship of the individual with their inner life. Attention and concentration is given to dreams, fantasies and other manifestations of the unconscious. This process has a healing and balancing effect on the mind.
If one's inner life is not valued but is rejected as irrelevant, it responds with a life of mental and physical distress. The goal of the work is self-knowledge towards wholeness and of nourishing the one unique individual you are.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Member of the Guild of Analytical Psychologists (GAP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). GAP is a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). I am also a Member of The Guild of Pastoral Psychology. I adhere to the GAP and UKCP Code of Ethics.
I have completed seven years of Jungian Analyst training, this included four years of theoretical training and a six month clinical placement under a psychiatrist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. I have been working with clients since 2014 and have undergone over twenty years of personal Jungian analysis.
I am under close and regular supervision by a senior analytical psychotherapist who is also a member of GAP. This means that you will be provided with the input of a highly experienced analyst.
I am a qualified EMDR Practitioner and a member of EMDR UK
