About me

I work with clients on a range of different issues from everyday work and relationship problems to trauma and mental heath problems. I can provide both short or long term care.

The form of psychotherapy I use is based on the work of Carl Jung and is known as analytical psychotherapy. It belongs to the psychodynamic school of psychotherapy. As a Jungian Analyst I work with dreams and unconscious processes to promote psychological healing.

As a trauma therapist, I use an integrated approach which blends IFS (working with different parts of the mind which may be protective or wounded) with EMDR (bilateral stimulation which reduces distress and promotes adaptation to positive self beliefs), a compassionate and non-judgemental healing.

I also work as a trainer and supervisor.

Jung's approach to analysis centres around the relationship of the individual with their inner life. Attention and concentration is given to dreams, fantasies and other manifestations of the unconscious. This process has a healing and balancing effect on the mind.

If one's inner life is not valued but is rejected as irrelevant, it responds with a life of mental and physical distress. The goal of the work is self-knowledge towards wholeness and of nourishing the one unique individual you are.

EMDR is integrated where needed to process distressing memories, transform negative self beliefs and restore a healthy balanced sense of self.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Senior Training Analyst with the Guild of Analytical Psychologists (GAP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). GAP is a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). I am also a Member of The Guild of Pastoral Psychology and The Jung Club. I adhere to the GAP and UKCP Code of Ethics.

I am also an accredited EMDR trauma therapist who is trained in integrated Internal Family Systems and EMDR techniques.

BPS Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

I've been practising since 2014 and am under close and regular supervision by several senior psychotherapists.
