About me

Hi and thanks for visiting my page.

I am passionate about helping others to help themselves and I'm guessing you've found yourself here because something in your life feels difficult right now? I offer you a space where you don't have to carry it all on your own.

Maybe your mind doesn't switch off or you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed or maybe relationships feel hard.  Whatever you 're going through, you'll be able to talk openly and at your own pace in an environment where you are valued and respected.

Together we will explore what is going on for you so that you can get a better understanding of yourself, feel calmer about situations that may feel difficult and feel more confident in your actions and decisions.

Often, the way we think, feel, and behave is shaped by our earlier experiences, including difficult moments from childhood or past trauma. Together, we can begin to explore these experiences and how they may be affecting you now.

Sometimes life can feel difficult due to specific reasons e.g. bereavement, relationship breakdown, loss of employment or you're just feeling low but can't really pinpoint why, I can help by supporting you through this and empowering you to regain control over your life.

I believe that each person is unique and I therefore use a combined approach which brings together different elements of specific therapies so that your counselling is tailored to you and your needs.

I offer a mixture of CBT with psychotherapy to help you to recognise your triggers, gain clarity and develop practical coping strategies and new ways of moving forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience of offering counselling services in a GP practice and supporting patients with anxiety, depression, work related stress, bereavement PTSD and relationship challenges.

I also have experience of working with BUPA's Employee Assistance helpline offering emotional and practical support to callers.

I am very comfortable working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
