Hello, my name is Gabrielle and I have availablity to work with clients both face to face and/or online. I am fully qualified as both a psychotherapeutic counsellor and psychotherapist and I am UKCP accredited. If you would like to have an initial chat my phone number is 07519 332081 or email me here.
Training, qualifications & experience
I emphasise this ‘safe container’ a secure, non-judgmental environment as the important first step. From there, I am hard working and honest and will do my best to support you with whatever's going on for you right now, supporting you to find your voice, to tell your story. The author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie described ‘the danger of a single story’. As a white, heterosexual woman, who was raised Catholic, I appreciate that I have experienced some ease and privilege. I hope and consider myself to be sensitive to diversity, privilege, to the words, to the many stories. I am also sensitive to grief in its many forms.
As a gestalt psychotherapist, there is a look to the East, philosophies such as Taoism, Buddhism, the acceptance of what is and from there, being within the here and now underlie the way I work. I find these ideas gentle, kind, with reverence for your experience. I would support you to sit with your difficulties/challenges in the here and now. I work somatically, above all relationally and consider myself kind, with a good sense of humour and creativity.
I look forward to hearing from you and wish you well until then
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
