About me

I am originally from Denmark, but I have lived in many locations across Europe. I moved to Scotland in 2012 for my undergraduate degree. In 2016 I found my roots here in Edinburgh where I have completed my professional Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy and established my private practice.

I understand that everyone goes through mental health and wellbeing challenges. I aim to provide you with a safe, and confidential space to help you improve your wellbeing.

In my free time I enjoy improving my physical fitness and spending time in nature. Both are a strong inspiration in my practice as I find they are safe spaces for me yet at the same time they challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone at times, which is a tension I have found present in counselling as well.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed my Professional Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh.

Through the professional Doctorate I have been awarded my COSCA validated Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling.

I currently lecture at the University of Strathclyde where I co-develop and teach on the BSc Psychology and Counselling undergraduate programme.

My passion for helping and supporting people developed at an early age and I have always wanted to be a counsellor. For the past 10 years I have worked in various roles across various locations within the mental health and wellbeing sector. I have worked in the US as a camp counsellor for children and young people. I have also worked in mental health hospitals in Sri Lanka where I have run therapeutic activities for children and adults. Here in Edinburgh, I have worked with Place2Be where I have worked with primary school children. Currently I work as a counsellor with young people, and adults.
