About me

Life can be challenging at times. Problems and difficulties can seem out of focus, or too much in focus and prevent us from feeling healthy.

At any time we can be affected by our past, as much as issues affecting us in the present, this can make us feel unbalanced, worried and unsure of ourselves. Therapy, talking with a qualified professional, can help us to find the answers and to take positive steps towards change.

I am a qualified Counsellor, trained as an integrative therapist. My approach will be based on each individual and your specific needs. We all feel, think and experience things differently; the integrative approach means I am able to adapt the therapeutic process, to resolve your challenges together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have worked as a Counsellor in education settings many times in the past and currently manage counselling services for a large academy school in Hampshire. I have worked in  private practice and held senior positions in the charity sector managing all aspects of mental health and counselling services. I have significant experience working with Sexual Orientation and Gender identity (SOGI) particularly with young people. I offer online, and face to face appointments in the New Forrest.

I will provide a safe, non-judgemental, confidential environment, enabling you to explore your chosen subject. I believe we have the answers within us, that we are experts on ourselves, but, that sometimes we need the right space and person to help us find those answers. Whether that's through exploring the here and now, the past or both, I will help you to do this.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
