Counsellor MBACP | Anxiety, Self-Esteem & ADHD Support

About me

Life doesn't have to feel this hard.

Are you constantly overthinking or exhausted from trying to hold everything together? Perhaps you question yourself, put everyone else first, or wonder why life sometimes seems easier for other people?

Outwardly, you may appear capable and have everything together, while privately struggling with anxiety, low confidence, self-criticism or simply feeling stuck.

You might be experiencing relationship difficulties, work-related stress, grief or loss, the impact of difficult past experiences, or changes associated with midlife, perimenopause or menopause. Perhaps you’ve spent years feeling different or misunderstood, or you’re beginning to wonder whether neurodivergence might be part of your experience.

Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Hello, I'm Fran
I’m a BACP-registered therapeutic counsellor based near Ludlow, Shropshire, offering face-to-face counselling at The Wetmore Clinic in Onibury, as well as online and telephone sessions across the UK.

I’ve always had a strong sense of fairness and a natural affinity with people who have felt misunderstood, underestimated or somehow different from those around them. My approach is grounded in helping you feel genuinely seen and understood, while supporting you to make sense of your experiences, recognise your strengths and find your own voice.

You may arrive knowing exactly what you want help with, or simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right. Together, we can explore what’s happening in the context of your life, relationships and experiences, without assuming there is something about you that needs to be “fixed”.

I also have an interest in neurodiversity and have completed additional training through a Certificate in Adult ADHD. I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way, so if you are diagnosed, self-identifying or exploring whether ADHD, autism or another form of neurodivergence may be part of your experience, this can be understood as part of the wider picture of who you are.

How I Work
I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can slow things down, understand yourself better and explore what might help you move forward.

My approach is integrative and collaborative, which means our work is tailored to you as an individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

I support adults experiencing:

• Anxiety, overwhelm and burnout
• Low self-esteem, self-doubt and self-criticism
• Relationship and family difficulties
• Boundaries and people-pleasing
• Trauma and the impact of difficult past experiences
• Bereavement, grief and loss
• Perimenopause, menopause and midlife changes
• Identity and life transitions
• Work-related stress
• Neurodiversity, including ADHD, autism, masking and late identification

Sessions
Face-to-face sessions are available at The Wetmore Clinic in Onibury, near Ludlow, Shropshire, with online and telephone counselling available across the UK.

Weekly, fortnightly and monthly appointments are available.

Free Introductory Call
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call where we can talk briefly about what brings you to counselling, what you’re looking for and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Adult ADHD, The Grove Practice (Completed Feb 2026)
  • BSc (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy, Warwickshire College (Sep 2023 – Jun 2024)
  • FdSc Counselling Theory and Practice, Staffordshire University (2021 – 2023)

Therapeutic Approach

I am a person-centred counsellor with an integrative approach, which means I adapt my work to suit each individual client rather than following one rigid model.

Alongside general counselling, I have a particular interest in supporting adults with ADHD or ADHD traits, and I have completed additional training in Adult ADHD. My work often includes helping clients understand patterns such as overwhelm, emotional dysregulation, difficulties with organisation or focus, and the impact these can have on confidence, relationships and daily life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
