About me
I'm a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited psychotherapist and a Mental Health First Aider. I have a degree in Psychology and I'm trained in a William Reich-based psychosomatic therapy called Bioenergetics.
In addition to my counselling practice, I have worked in Public Health at East Sussex County Council for four years delivering a wellbeing at work project, and two years at Mind, the UK mental health charity, also promoting employee health and wellbeing.
Although my work with clients is mainly talking therapy, I explore the relationship between body and mind through a series of therapeutic exercises to promote vitality and healthy emotional expression. The body stores all our unhelpful emotional patterns through chronic muscular tensions. I believe that it’s important to work on how we feel in our bodies and on those tensions to create health and significant behaviour change. I also integrate holistic tools such as music, breath work, mindfulness and art when suitable, learned from my own yoga and meditation practice.
More recently I have been incorporating some techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) learned during my career in Public Health.
During the process with me, we will use all those resources to gain more awareness and understanding of yourself. But my main focus is to hold a safe space for you to express your feelings, reconnect with yourself and regain joy and freedom in your own body and in your life.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
