About me

Do you feel like you’re not getting what you want out of life? Perhaps you’re repeating old patterns that just don’t work for you anymore. You know something needs to change but what exactly? And how? These are very common thoughts to have, I’ve had them myself. So much so that I studied counselling and have learnt the skills to help others get back on track using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). If you don’t know much about CBT that’s ok, effectively it focuses on understanding how your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and behaviours interact, and on developing practical skills to respond differently to difficulties. It can help you understand why you keep doing that thing that you know isn’t helpful but you just can’t seem to stop yourself from doing. In our work together we can find new ways of managing strong emotions and unhelpful behaviours so that you can thrive, so that you can live a life that feels fulfilling, positive and hopeful as opposed to just getting by.  Whether it’s anxiety, low mood or depression, low confidence or a combination of those things, following our work together, you will have the skills and knowledge you need to become the sort of person you want to be, able to handle the challenges that life throws without wanting to hide under the duvet or isolate from others.
If you’d find it helpful to have an initial chat, send me an email or give me a call, I’ll be happy to listen, it’s one of the great things about therapy, talking to someone independent who will be able to listen without judgement. I wish you the best, stay hopeful.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
