About me

Hello. I am Fazeela Ashraf, an accredited, professional Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I am an Integrative Therapist.

I am trained in Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural approaches to therapy. This means that I use a combination of therapies and provide an individualized, tailor-made approach for my clients to help them in the best way possible. I work in collaboration with my clients, allowing, if desired, solution-focused therapy to be undertaken. I ensure that they feel empowered, motivated and supported to reach their true potential. The client’s goals are decided and worked on in a collaborative alliance between myself and them. If my client is seeking long term therapy, this would involve exploring their past, experiences, thoughts, memories, past coping mechanisms or attachment styles, anything they wish to gain a deeper insight in to. I like to work at my client’s pace, providing them with an empathetic, non-judgemental and safe space to explore what truly matters to them. My client’s comfort, privacy, and wellbeing are my priority.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a self-motivated therapist who is accredited and registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am committed to completing 30+ hours of CPD per year. I work ethically and responsibly abiding to the NCPS’s code of ethics and conduct. Furthermore, I hold individual BACP membership with the intent to achieve BACP registeration within one year.  I receive professional supervision twice a month to ensure the welfare of my clients and to facilitate my professional development. Moreover, I am a PVG scheme member in respect with regulated work with children and adults, and therefore not barred from that type of regulated work. Importantly, I am also a graduate member of the British Psychological Society after completing an MSc in Psychology from the University of Glasgow. My background has enabled me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the motivations behind human behaviour and how the quality of your past and your thinking styles can impact on your present. Moreover, I am a certified Hypnotherapist, registered with the National Counselling Society.

I have worked for notable organisations such as the NHS, NSPCC, Place2Be and Lifelink, allowing me to gain invaluable experience of working with children, younger adults and older adults. I have  experience of working with diversified demographics that present a wide range of issues.
