About me

I am an HCPC registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Arts Therapist with a humanistic, relational, creative and collaborative approach. I prioritise building a safe, compassionate, authentic, and non-judgemental relationship so as to effectively support you to explore and express any complex, painful or confusing feelings and experiences that may be holding you back in your present-day life and relationships. I offer a confidential and containing therapeutic space and the opportunity to feel truly heard and accepted wherever you are right now in your personal circumstances.

How I work:

I employ a range of psychotherapeutic modalities and somatic practices which I draw upon depending on your unique difficulties and personality. This way of working supports us to explore, reflect and make sense of your past and present feelings and struggles together in sessions, as well as better identify and understand your emotional triggers so that you may learn to safely move through those moments when life feels particularly challenging or overwhelming.

A Creative Approach:

I believe that we are all born with innate wisdom, creativity, and the inner resources to live fulfilling lives, but that the effects of developmental, traumatic, abusive, or disruptive relationships and difficult life experiences tend to make us doubt our potential and lose sight of our own needs, desires and self-worth. Often we cannot find the words to articulate how we really feel or, conversely, sometimes our head is too full of words, and we find ourselves getting stuck in repetitive negative thinking patterns.

Tapping into our creativity and working with images, metaphor, imagination, and our more subtle somatic sensations within the safety of the therapeutic relationship can be a powerful way to shift our perspectives or feelings of stuckness, bring about new insights and process traumas and strong emotions in a safe and contained way. Indeed working more creatively within therapy can really help us to discover aspects of ourselves that may have previously been outside of our conscious awareness, as well as helping us to express, process and integrate complex feelings and experiences that may have previously felt somewhat “beyond words”.
