About me

Welcome! The decision to start therapy is an important and often life-changing act of self-care. Continually experiencing physical tension or feeling that you are trapped in repetitive thought patterns can inhibit your ability to set priorities and implement change. Taking the first steps toward making personal changes is often the most challenging part of the journey, but I’m here to provide the support you need to ease yourself into the process.

I believe that every individual holds a natural ability and power to discover healing and personal development within themselves. I endeavour to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space that will enable you to navigate and surmount any obstacles you may be experiencing.

Together, we will explore and gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to help you understand their significance and how they relate to the challenges and obstacles you are currently facing. My goal is to help you tap into your inherent ability for healing, empowerment and wisdom.

Using an integrative and holistic approach, I tailor the therapy to your unique evolving needs. Among the evidence-based psychotherapy models I employ are psychodynamic, person-centred and mindfulness-based techniques. We may also engage in grounding and soothing activities that will help you modulate your feelings and achieve greater emotional control.

The psychological health of every individual is intertwined with environmental and social factors unique to their circumstances. To provide fair, individualized care, I pay close attention to my clients' contexts, complexities, and individual histories.

Training, qualifications & experience

I adopt a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach and have gained valuable experience working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. I work with my clients to address a variety of difficulties and concerns, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief or bereavement, identity conflicts, life transitions, daily stress, and harsh inner critic.

I have worked for NHS IAPT and a multi-ethnic centre within a charity. Working in a multicultural centre has increased my awareness and understanding of the significance of age, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, gender, values and beliefs. In addition, I have a better understanding of how these elements interact with other facets of our existence, such as relationships and sexuality. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in both hospitality management and as a multilingual translator. This gave me first-hand experience working with people from every walk of life and an appreciation for the impact of high-pressure jobs on mental health.

I am a registered and fully qualified member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to the highest ethical standards and am committed to ongoing professional development in order to keep my knowledge and expertise in the field current and relevant.

The duration of counselling differs depending on the individual and the specific goals of therapy. I provide both short-term and long-term counselling. I can also provide the sessions in Spanish.

I am available after work hours to accommodate busy schedules. Please get in touch for a free phone consultation to discuss your needs.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
