About me

Hi and welcome! My name is Faiza Abbasi (she/her), a registered psychotherapist and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Holding a postgraduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy Level 7.

My practice is an all-inclusive practice that embraces and values clients from all walks of life, honouring diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious, spiritual and non-religious backgrounds. I believe that every individual’s story is unique and deserving of respect.

It is a privilege to witness my client's journey, stand alongside them, and provide support as they work toward healing, and personal growth and develop tools that empower them throughout life.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, and I deeply acknowledge the courage it takes to seek support. Reaching out often means confronting vulnerable feelings, uncertainties, or fears, which can feel overwhelming. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to face these challenges alone.

I work relationally, meeting you where you are and tailoring our sessions to your unique needs. My priority is to create a safe, empathetic, confidential and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.

I offer both short and long-term therapy, but my ultimate goal is for our sessions to help empower you to find the strength and tools within yourself so you can continue your journey independently and confidently.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative psychotherapist, drawing on various psychological theories to support your needs. I work relationally with my clients where, you are at the heart of our work together. In our first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve, setting a clear path forward. Therapy is a collaborative journey; real change happens when we work together.

I aim to offer a supportive space to explore and make meaningful changes that promote greater health and well-being. Psychotherapy aims to help you deepen your self-understanding, build self-esteem, resolve inner conflicts, and process challenges that are impacting you.

Each individual brings their own personal and complex circumstances to psychotherapy. This has taught me that every journey is unique. I have had the privilege of working with wonderful clients from all walks of life which has given me the experience to tailor my approach.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
