Integrative Counsellor, MBACP Dip. Integrative Counselling

About me

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you're not used to talking about how you feel or find it difficult to open up to someone.

I'm Eve, an integrative counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), offering counselling through Place Counselling in Streatham and Clapham, South West London, as well as online.

My approach is calm, warm and down-to-earth. I want you to feel at ease with me, so that talking about what's on your mind feels a little less daunting. There's no pressure to find the right words or know where to begin. We can simply start wherever you are.

Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, feeling low, coming to terms with a loss, or finding life difficult to manage at the moment. You might have a lot on your mind, feel unsure about what you're experiencing, or simply know that something doesn't feel right.

My own experiences of loss and needing support through incredibly difficult times have shaped the counsellor I am today. They have helped me really appreciate how important it is to feel listened to, understood and accepted when life feels difficult.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have experience working within NHS Talking Therapies in Lambeth, where I've supported people from a range of backgrounds and with different challenges.

As an integrative counsellor, I recognise that everyone is different. Rather than taking the same approach with everyone, I draw on different ways of working depending on you, your experiences and what feels helpful. Our sessions are a space where we can talk things through, explore your feelings and begin to make sense of what's going on for you, at a pace that feels comfortable.

You don't have to work everything out on your own. If you feel I might be the right counsellor for you, I'd be very happy to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not used to talking about how you feel or aren’t quite sure where to begin.

You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you want to work on. Sometimes it’s enough to know that something doesn’t feel quite right and that you’d like a space to talk things through.

I aim to offer a warm, welcoming and confidential space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. We’ll take things at your pace, allowing time to explore whatever feels important to you.

If you feel I might be the right counsellor for you, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
