About me
Mental health problems are so prevalent and yet it can still feel near-impossible to know what to do, who to reach out to, how to find one's way back to wellbeing.
The counsellor-client relationship is one of the most powerful tools for transformation I've experienced. Curating connection and understanding in a conscious, deliberate way in therapy, is what leads to deep change within oneself.
Building a caring and solid working relationship is the primary focus of the counselling I practice. On this bedrock, we explore areas you're having difficulty with. I provide a warm, safe, strictly confidential and open-minded environment for your thoughts, emotions, experiences and how to navigate them.
Often times, the obstacles you are facing can be linked back to experiences you've had in the past, we can explore these. This is done in a non-judgmental manner; the aim is not to 'point the finger' at people/situations from your past, but rather understand and process how these have shaped you and your perspectives/behaviour i.e. who you are today.
We will also delve into the here-and-now of your life and circumstances. Handling your current situations, alongside creating favourable, more beneficial patterns and outlooks for yourself, takes practice. We will work on this together, consistently upskilling you in ways to navigate your ongoing growth.
In addition to talking about your difficulties, we will use exercises to build your emotional resilience, present-moment focus and deeper awareness. These can offer much insight and become life-long tools you can lean on, long after you've competed your counselling.
If any of the above resonates and/or makes you curious to find out more, do reach out, I offer an introductory 15mins call where we can discuss further and get an initial sense of each other. I offer online and/or in-person walk and talk therapy sessions, only.
Training, qualifications & experience
I spent over 10 years working in the mental health & charity sector (high-security housing facilities across London) and the NHS service at the Maudsley hospital as a counsellor, supporting clients suffering from depression, anxiety, addiction, anger/emotional regulation issues, relationship and identity struggles, to name a few. I practiced CBT-focused, Person-Centred and Gestalt counselling in these roles. In my private practice I use a combination of approaches, to tailor-suit individual needs.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
