About me
Hi I’m Emma, a HCPC registered clinical psychologist with experience of working with teenagers and adults. I have training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I work in an integrative way and tailor my approach to your unique needs and preferences, working collaboratively with you to help you move towards the life that you want. I am passionate about helping my clients overcome their mental health challenges and build self-esteem and self-compassion, along with health coping strategies.
I aim to create a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental space in therapy, one where we can build a trusting relationship to allow you to better understand and address the difficulties you are experiencing. Some of the issues that I commonly work with include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, burn-out, panic attacks, social anxiety, OCD and emetophobia.
In addition to working as a clinical psychologist, I am also a certified yoga instructor with my own mindfulness meditation practice. I can optionally include these in your therapy sessions if that is something you would like to explore.
I have personal experience of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), so if you are seeking a psychologist that understands the unique challenges of Crohn’s Disease or Colitis, please get in touch.
If you're struggling with something and looking for effective and compassionate therapy, I am here to help. Contact me today to arrange a free 15 minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit.
