About me

I am a qualified, BACP accredited therapist with over 16 years of experience supporting and developing individuals, couples and groups. I take a flexible solution focussed approach and I am trained in numerous approaches in counselling and psychotherapy.

I am highly empathic; I aim to tailor my support to your situation in tandem with your own strategies. I use evidence based approaches for example I use CBT to help identify and adapt unhelpful patterns of behaviour and I use EFT to help overcome phobias and well as remove limiting beliefs to improve self-esteem and performance at work. I will share my approaches with you in order that you can use them to create coping strategies between and after therapy. I take a holistic approach to explore your physical and emotional well-being. I tend to use short term solution focussed counselling of six to twelve sessions but can work longer time with certain conditions. I can be directive if it is appropriate.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and loss. I can work with you to eliminate the ongoing effects of trauma; panic attacks and flashbacks.

I come from a corporate background and I worked for five years years in counselling roles in occupational health organisations as well as six years in Private Practice. I have been able to help many people with problems which are impacting their work, those who feel they are in the wrong job or struggling to juggle work with the rest of their lives. I understand the impact of work related stress, difficult working relationships, career transition, redundancy and retirement on personal well-being. I have a wealth of experience helping individuals to manage transition; shifting careers or priorities.

I am trained and use creative forms of counselling for example art, visualisation and mindfulness.

If you would like to talk though what is happening in your life, I am here to listen. If you would like to make changes in your life, I am here to support you.

I offer 1 hour sessions in rooms in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire in a central location close to the train station with free parking.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
