About me
Hello and welcome, I’m Emma, a humanistic gestalt counsellor and ecotherapy facilitator.
Whatever brings you here, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, loss or something harder to name, it matters. Reaching out can feel like a big step, but it’s often the beginning of something meaningful.
I offer a collaborative space that is grounded in warmth, compassion, and support. A space where you can feel seen and heard without judgment, and where you can explore what’s going on for you, at your pace.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety and stress
- Depression and low mood
- Low self-esteem and self-confidence
- Grief and loss
- Relationship issues
- Neurodiversity and identity
- Life transitions and identity
- Stress and burnout
My approach
At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship, and I believe the quality of it is one of the most important aspects of effective therapy.
We will co-create a safe space that allows you to freely share what is important to you, and I'll support you to explore what has and hasn't been said. I will help you reconnect with your authentic self and find your own answers, rather than giving you advice or quick fixes.
I use a humanistic approach and draw on others as needed. I also offer invitations, including creativity and practical tools that can allow for new perspectives and a deeper understanding. And if you'd like to explore nature-based approaches & invitations, we can discuss this together.
Where and how I work
For in-person sessions, I have spaces in Ringwood, Verwood and Wimborne.
I also offer flexibility in how we meet including in-person, online, or through walk and talk and nature based therapy. I understand that healing doesn’t always happen indoors or while sitting still - sometimes, gentle movement and the natural world help us access what’s been hard to reach.
Next steps
You're welcome to reach out for a free, no-obligation introductory call and see if working together feels like the right fit. And if we are, I’m here and ready to support you.
The first session will then be a chance for us to meet and get to know each other, and explore what you are struggling with and what you'd like to get out of the sessions.
By the end of our first session, we’ll have a sense of whether we’d like to continue working together, and if so, we'll agree on further sessions. However, there's no obligation to continue.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
