About me
I'm an experienced and compassionate Integrative Therapist, with additional training in working with trauma.
I work with adults and young people aged 14+ remotely online or on the phone and in person in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. June 2026 - At present I only have availabilty for online/phone counselling.
I have a background of over 30 years working in a range of charities and mental health organisations. Some of the areas I have worked with include: missing/ambiguous loss, suicide bereavement, sudden and traumatic loss, young people's mental health, self harm, suicidal thoughts & bereavement.
I also work with fellow professionals in the mental health, bereavement, caring sector who may be experiencing signs of burnout or vicarious/secondary trauma. Bringing together my extensive management and therapeutic experience to help you recognise the signs and then work with your mind and body to find balance and restore wellbeing.
My approach is trauma-informed, relational and holistic, recognising the importance of working with your whole being, mind and body.
I am trauma trained & draw on a range of different modalities in my work including humanistic, psychodynamic, somatic, mindfulness, breathwork, creative, parts work, and attachment theory.
My belief is that for therapy to be beneficial, there needs to be the right relationship between you and your counsellor, so finding the right person is key. My hope is that I can create a supportive, compassionate therapeutic space where you can feel safe enough to work towards change and healing.

Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 3 Counselling Studies

All the above courses are accredited by the CPCAB.
As a Therapist I am committed to ongoing CPD and have undertaken ongoing training most recently in Childhood Sexual Abuse, Avoiding Secondary Trauma and Understanding Neurodiversity.
As well as working as a Counsellor, I manage the Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service and provide support and counselling to adults and young people bereaved by suicide.
I also worked for many years for the charity Missing People and have extensive experience in supporting adults and young people people who are or have been missing and the families of missing loved ones.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
