About me

I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor and a registered member of the BACP working predominantly with younger adults, teenagers and children.

Being an integrative therapist I work with a range of modalities that will help support you, this might include CBT techniques, person-centred or psychodynamic work. I like to think of the therapeutic space as creative and collaborative where we will think about how you are in the present but also how your past may have shaped you as an individual.

I believe the largest part of what makes therapy successful is the therapeutic relationship and my aim as a therapist is to provide a safe, nurturing and empathetic space for you to feel able to share any concerns, worries or anxieties you may be facing in your life.

Sometimes our thought processes and emotions run wild in our minds, we can lose any sense of hope and feel like it is not worth living any more. My aim as your therapist is to create an environment of openness, developing trust and a connection between ourselves so that we can start untangling some of these difficult feelings together as well as some of the pain that might be festering from deep within. We will collaboratively work towards healing so that you feel more able to live life to its full potential.

I fully appreciate that reaching out for therapy can be scary and in some cases quite daunting but I can assure you that we will always work at a pace that makes you feel comfortable.

In our initial session together, you will be able to share your reasons for coming to therapy as well as any goals you would like to work towards. This will also give you an opportunity to sense how it feels talking with me, you will also be able to ask any questions about how I work during this time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited by the CPCAB Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body. I am also a registered member of the BACP British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and follow their strict ethical code of practice.

I have also completed a Diploma in CBT and REBT.

I am currently furthering my practice and have recently started a Masters in Child, Adolescent and Family Psychotherapy.

In addition to my therapeutic training, I have also completed a fine art foundation course at Central St Martins.

I am DBS cleared, insured and in regular professional supervision, which ensures the highest standard of support for clients.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
