About me

I provide a confidential, safe space, working with adults, children and young people. I support anxiety, low mood, depression, bereavement, family and relationship difficulties, trauma, self harm, Autism, ADHD, neurodivergent and mental health conditions.

How we will work together

Working with adult's, together we will explore and work through whatever you are experiencing in a safe and non judgemental environment. Together we will complete a full assessment at your first appointment to understand your needs and how best I can support you. We may work in the here and now and also look back to your childhood to gain an understanding of how your past can influence your present.

When working with children and young people, building a trusting relationship is the most important aspect of therapy, where your child feels comfortable to open up and share their experiences. Depending on your child’s needs and interests, we may incorporate play or creative techniques to support communication and exploration of their difficulties and emotions..

I understand how difficult it can be to reach out and ask for support and start your counselling journey. I offer a free 20 minute initial meeting over the phone or online. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and welcome any questions by email with no obligation to book.

Being an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor means that I draw from a variety of psychological approaches which inform my work with you or your child, such as Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, CBT, DBT, Attachment and other Psychodynamic theories.

I support families and parents caring for children with SEND, unpaid and young carers. Having a deep level of empathy and understanding from personal experiences.

I am an approved counsellor for the Police Firearms Officers Association, (PFOA) and offer a blue light card discount for all front line emergency service workers, Armed Forces, NHS personnel and NARPO members.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
