Emily Hughes
About me
My name is Emily and I am a fully qualified Hypnotherapist and Counsellor based in Ingatestone, Essex. As my client, you will be able to express whatever you feel you need to in that moment, and together we can work through the emotional issues this raises for you, in a supportive environment. Generally in my sessions I combine Hypnotherapy, Counselling, Meditation, Mindfulness, Transformational Breathing Techniques and a Holistic approach to your life style. Working this way is effective, all encompassing and perfect for lasting change.
I am based at my wellness company just 5 minutes from Ingatestone high street, ‘The Wellness Barn.’ I also have a virtual clinic on certain days of the week for those who can not make it to the barn. For these sessions I sue FaceTime/Skype/Zoom which allows my clients to have therapy in the comfort of their own home. This is perfect in particular for teens, parents, busy workers, anyone who is unable to travel for any reason and those with health complications. It’s the perfect solution for making sure therapy fits in to your routine perfectly. If virtual sessions appeal to you then please let me know in your enquiry. See more about The Wellness Barn here: www.wellnessbarn.co.uk And more about my virtual clinics here on my website: www.emilyhughestherapy.com/virtual-clinic
In your first session with me, your initial consultation, we will both be learning. First and foremost we will be learning if we are a match. For me to be a match for you there needs to be a certain level of trust and a comfortable feeling of ease. For you to be a match for me, I need to be sure you are willing to work towards your end goal and come to each session committed and open minded. In the initial consultation, I will then learn as much about you as possible in order to create the most effective therapeutic plan for you, and you will be able to ask anything you feel you want to know about Therapy. So whatever your issue is, be it anxiety, confidence and self esteem issues, stress, a phobia, weight control problems, a bad habit, or something very specific, you and I will work as a team to help you move into a better place.
So who do I typically work with? Well, of course I work with a wide range of people and issues, from stress management through to addiction, eating disorders, OCD and everything in between. However, the area I most commonly deal with is Anxiety. Anxiety disorders are complex and very different for each person. I therefore adapt and combine all my therapeutic skills to tackle anxiety, enabling my clients to understand the root cause of their experience of anxiety and how to manage both the emotional and physical symptoms. Many of my clients have been able to come off their anxiety medication as a result, and have instead made small yet effective lifestyle changes which have put them back in control.
I also find that low self esteem and lack of confidence is at the root of not just anxiety but lots of emotional disturbances people come to therapy with, so I am experienced in helping people build their sense of self worth, their confidence and generally improve the relationship they have with themselves. Looking at past experiences, belief systems, relationships and many other elements can be helpful here in building an understanding of yourself and your emotions, all of which is done using a combination of techniques such as Person Centered Therapy, CBT, the Psychodynamic approach, Relationship counselling, Bereavement Counselling and much more.
I also offer group therapy / workshops / classes / day retreats. Please feel free to ask for further information on any of these or visit my web site for more information.
I FULLY COMPLY WITH THE MOST UP TO DATE GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION REQUIREMENTS (GDPR) AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE A COPY OF MY PRIVACY POLICY WHICH INCLUDES MY CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY PLEASE JUST ASK.
I look forward to meeting you :)
