About me

ONLINE ANXIETY SPECIALIST

My name is Emily and I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I run a full time virtual counselling clinic, meaning all my sessions are carried out online. Having therapy this way provides flexibility and convenience. Having therapy from the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you perfectly, adds a wonderful sense of ease and calm to your sessions, especially helpful if you are feeling anxious.

As my client, you will have the freedom to express whatever you feel you need to during our time together and we can work through the emotional issues this raises for you. There is no thought or feeling that is too big or too small to come to therapy with and your sessions really are your time to be seen, heard, supported and understood. Everybody's experience of anxiety is unique and I will be learning about how it feels for YOU, putting together a plan that is perfectly suited to your needs.

During your initial consultation, I will be learning as much about you as possible in order to create an effective therapeutic plan that we will use to guide us. You will also be able to ask as many questions as you feel you want to about Therapy.

My area of specialism is Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders. Anxiety disorders are complex and very different for each person. I therefore adapt and combine all my therapeutic skills to educate, guide and support my clients to be able to work through the root cause of their anxiety and to manage both the emotional and physical symptoms that come with it. Many of my clients have been able to come off their anxiety medication as a result, and have instead made small yet effective lifestyle changes which have put them back in control.

I also find that low self esteem can be at the root of not just anxiety but lots of emotional disturbances people come to therapy with, so I am experienced in helping people build their sense of self worth, their confidence and greatly improve the relationship they have with themselves. Looking at past experiences, belief systems, old pain, learned behaviours, subconscious patterns and many other elements can help to build an understanding of yourself, your emotions and your thought processes on a deep and meaningful level which is like building the foundation of a successful therapeutic journey.

I believe combining techniques such as Person Centred Therapy, CBT, the Psychodynamic approach, Relationship counselling, Transactional Analysis, Bereavement Counselling, Mindfulness, Philosophy, Spirituality and working with the Autonomic Nervous System via the breath is the perfect blend to make lasting and meaningful change and is the flexible and adaptable approach I take in my work.

I look forward to meeting you :)
