About me

Supporting women to find calm, confidence — and themselves — through perimenopause, menopause and the ‘mental load’ we can carry

Hi, I’m Ellie, a psychotherapist who works online via Zoom or Teams. Online therapy gives you the freedom to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable — no travel, no pressure, just space for you.

I am passionate about helping women navigate the emotional, physical, and psychological shifts that come with perimenopause, menopause and midlife pressures in general.

This chapter of life can bring unexpected changes — to your mood, body, confidence, and relationships — and it’s completely normal to feel unsettled or disconnected from yourself. You might be experiencing anxiety, mood swings, low motivation, or a loss of identity, among other things. Did you know there are 100 menopause symptoms suggested online?! I’m here to help you make sense of it all and reconnect with your strength, calm, and confidence.

Menopause isn’t just an ending — it’s also an invitation to pause, reflect, and redefine who you are and what you want from life. Together, we can explore how you’re feeling, support your emotional wellbeing, and help you step into this new stage with clarity and self-trust.

My approach is integrative and person-centred, meaning I tailor sessions to your unique needs. I blend evidence-based therapies with compassion and practical tools to help you feel more balanced and in control. This may include:

CBT to manage anxiety, low mood, and unhelpful thinking patterns

Mindfulness and grounding techniques to bring calm and emotional balance

Compassion-focused therapy to rebuild self-worth and confidence

Psychoeducation around the mind-body connection and hormonal changes

Our sessions are a space for you to breathe, reflect, and rediscover your voice — at your own pace and in your own way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m trained as an integrative, person-centred counsellor, and a qualified psychologist. My background has given me a deep understanding of what it means to face major life changes — both emotionally and physically. Alongside my private practice, I continue to work within the NHS, supporting clients adjusting to life after amputation. This role has strengthened my belief in the human capacity for resilience and growth, even in the face of profound change.

I’ve also supported people navigating substance use and behavioural addictions, including gambling and sex addiction, as well as those experiencing low mood, anxiety, and loss of identity. These experiences have shaped my ability to hold space for complex emotions, helping clients reconnect with self-trust and confidence as they move through uncertainty.

In addition to my professional experience, I bring lived experience of menopause following surgery, which gives me a deep, personal understanding of the emotional and physical impact it can have. I know how disorienting it can feel when your body changes overnight, and how important it is to have compassionate, informed support during that time.

This combination of professional and personal experience informs my work with women in menopause — a stage that, while deeply personal, can also be transformative. My aim is to help you approach this transition with compassion, curiosity, and a renewed sense of self.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
