About me
I work with people who want to feel empowered, regain a sense of self and let go of what may be holding them back. Often we can find ourselves feeling lost or stuck in the same patterns or cycles, trying to fit the expectations of others, or simply not feeling like ourselves. My aim is to support people in overcoming these challenges, understand more about themselves and how they want their lives to be, and how to get there. I look at how we can let go of the patterns that no longer serve us, and how to integrate new, more authentic ways of being that align with what we truly want and need.
My core values as a counsellor and my approach are:
Authenticity - It is really important to me that I show up as a real human being with my clients. I find that if we can both show up as ourselves, there is more transparency, curiosity, and an overall more natural feel to the sessions. I have a down to earth approach where being yourself and feeling comfortable to do so is fundamental.
Curiosity - I am actively curious about the people I work with; where they come from, what they value, who they are at their core, what happens between us in the therapeutic space. Curiosity and non-judgement go hand-in-hand, and it often helps the people I work with become curious about themselves, in turn letting go of self-judgement and shame.
Creativity and Adaptability - I work in a variety of ways, including art, metaphor, dreams, inner child work, fantasy and imagination, as well as practical tools, particularly when working with anxiety, stress or specific goals. I integrate some Pluralistic techniques to get an idea of what your preferences for counselling are or might be (if you've never had counselling before), ensuring that am adapting to you and your counselling needs.
I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, self-esteem and confidence, family issues, boundaries, relationships and intimacy, LGBTQ+ clients and neurodiversity such as autism and ADHD.
I have also worked with a number of trainee/student counsellors, supporting them on their journey of personal development.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
