About me

My core belief is that art, play and self-expression are a powerful way to address issues experienced by many children and young people. My therapeutic approach is always child centered and led by the client, adapting to each individuals needs. I guide everyone I work with empathy, sensitivity and show them ways in which to honour, express and process any emotion that they are feeling in a safe, contained way.

Parents often come to me when their child is struggling at any stage of their development. We all remember how challenging it can be to be a child and in current times more than ever with issues surrounding social media, environmental concerns, identity and so much more.

I can help your child with counselling for:

  • Exam stress
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Dissociation
  • Addiction
  • Low mood and depression
  • Loneliness
  • Bullying
  • Shame
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Bereavement, loss and grief
  • Separations
  • Anger
  • Identity
  • Traumatic and post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Abuse or neglect
  • Domestic abuse
  • Anxiety and fears
  • Changes in life
  • Challenging behaviour

I work closely with families in an empathic, non-judgemental way, to support them in better understanding their child’s needs. I have a new space at A Balanced life in Hackney Wick for ages 4-18.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 17 years experience working as a teaching assistant in primary schools and as a nanny. I then completed a PGCE at The Institute of Education. I then went on to be a primary school teacher and nursery school room leader. Whilst doing this work I realised I wanted to work with children therapeutically as I strongly believe once the mind and body is at ease we are more able to achieve the success we all deserve in life.  I later completed a diploma in child counselling and psychotherapy at The Institute of Arts Therapy and Education. Since graduating I have been working in secondary and primary schools in East London. I now run a private practise at A Balanced Life in Hackney Wick.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
