About me

I am a fully qualified, MBACP Registered counsellor, practicing person-centred therapy. My job is to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which you feel free to explore your issues and feelings. I offer a neutral and supportive ear, allowing you that all important offloading space which so many of us lack, yet benefit from enormously.

I work with all ages from 12 years upwards and offer face-to-face counselling in my garden therapy house as well as counselling by telephone and video call (Teams, WhatsApp).

Much of my counselling work over recent years has been for Tameside, Oldham & Glossop Mind, and my experience lies primarily in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, bereavement and low self-esteem. My client base is therefore broad, comprising people of all ages, gender and ethnicity.

Having gained experience in education, business and charity sector, I am also able to work closely with employers and their staff, as well as people in management roles or the self-employed, who all too often have lost enjoyment in life as a result of stress, generalised anxiety disorder and other work-related concerns.

I also offer counselling to the increasing number of people whose mood, wellbeing and anxiety levels have been affected by self-isolation, social anxiety and loneliness.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
