About me

I am a fully qualified counsellor practicing person-centred therapy. My job is to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which you feel free to explore your issues and feelings. I offer a neutral and supportive ear, allowing you that all important offloading space which so many of us lack, yet benefit from enormously.

I work with all ages from 16 years upwards and offer face-to-face counselling in my garden therapy house as well as counselling by telephone and video call (Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp).

Much of my counselling work over recent years has been for Tameside, Oldham & Glossop Mind, and my experience lies primarily in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, bereavement and low self-esteem. My client base is therefore broad, comprising people of all ages, gender and ethnicity.

Having gained experience in both business and charity sector, I am also able to work closely with employers and their staff, as well as people in management roles or the self-employed, who all too often have lost enjoyment in life as a result of stress and other work-related concerns.

I also offer counselling to the increasing number of people whose mood, wellbeing and anxiety levels have been affected by self-isolation and loneliness as a result of COVID-19.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
