About me

I am a BACP registered integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, working with adults aged 16 years and over. My MA incorporated training in CBT, the humanistic approach and the psychodynamic philosophy. I am also informed by compassion focused therapy (CFT) and the significance of utilising ‘mindfulness’ and psychoeducation. With the firm foundation of the therapeutic relationship, I work relationally and am able to adapt my approach in accordance to your individual goals, needs and preferences.

I understand that life presents us with difficult challenges. This could be in response to a specific event, present ongoing anxieties or in response to long-term, complex struggles that you have been trying to manage alone.

My approach is to listen and truly understand your difficulties and to collaboratively work together with you. I believe that a therapeutic relationship, based on trust, plays a fundamental role within the healing process. I have been told that I am warm, empathic and approachable. My aim is to provide a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space; where you not only feel able to safely explore how you feel, but are gently supported to gain a greater understanding of yourself and obtain a renewed clarity. Together, we will identify your goals and your own powerful resources, thereby facilitating you to move forwards, in a more positive direction.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I understand that it can feel daunting and overwhelming embarking on your therapeutic journey. It is so important that you are comfortable and feel that you have chosen the right therapist for you and your individual needs. Therefore, before embarking on the process, I offer an initial telephone call lasting approximately 15 minutes. This enables you to briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy, to ask any questions you may have and to give you a feel of my therapeutic approach.

If you decide you would like us to work together, an initial assessment session would be arranged, which would last for approximately 60 minutes. This would enable us to obtain an understanding of your difficulties in greater depth and collaboratively establish a plan catered towards your needs and future goals. All further session will last for 50 minutes, which are normally and ideally on a weekly basis.

I offer therapy sessions face-to-face in the centre of Guildford. Furthermore, I see clients online via Zoom, in conjunction with offering walk and talk therapy within the beautiful Surrey hills.
