About me
Hello, I'm Eleanor, I’m offering a space where you can feel heard. I understand that it can feel like a big step coming to therapy, or hard to know where to start — we can move at your pace. Most of all, I want to build a trusting relationship, which feels safe to explore what’s brought you to therapy.
You may be feeling distressed, overwhelmed, low or anxious. You might have experienced a significant change in your life, want to explore a particular issue, or to have a supportive space that's just for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor, with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, registered with the BACP, and nearing the end of my psychotherapy training. My training is in Integrative Therapy, at The Minster Centre, one of Europe's leading integrative schools. I have practiced in the NHS and in a low-cost, charity service as well as privately. I am DBS checked and fully insured.
How I work
I draw together a number of theories, these are relational therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, and body talking therapy and I work in a trauma-informed way.
In a session, I try to pick up on what has emotional potency — or where it's lacking. I'm interested in dynamics in relationships and might consider if these show up with us. I am interested in childhood experiences and how these appear now. I am also interested in identity and experiences of identity in wider society if this is something you'd like to explore.
What to expect
In general, sessions are open for you to talk about what you like. However, in an initial session, I would want to cover certain questions in order to be able to work together, and it’s also a space for you to meet me and ask any questions. All sessions are 50 minutes long and I work in-person from The Minster Centre.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
