About me

Welcome!  I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist providing short or long term counselling/psychotherapy. I am an empathic and sensitive person with passionate drive to make a difference to individuals and/or organisations.

I believe that we are all entitled to support or help at times in our lives and given the right environment people have the ability to heal and grow.  As a therapist I seek to create a safe and confidential space where individuals feel welcome and not judged but accepted and understood; that they are able to explore their issues or difficulties, allowing greater awareness in order to make better choices for themselves.

Training, qualifications & experience

Masters Degree in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy

Licensed Counselling for Depression Practitioner

“Let the beauty we love be what we do” (Rumi)

I have been a Counsellor for over 20 years and a psychotherapist for 10 years.  I have considerable experience on a broad spectrum of client issues providing short and long-term counselling/psychotherapy within voluntary, private and public sectors. I have worked effectively with clients, male and female, ages 16-80; people from various cultural backgrounds and with varying disabilities.

I have a specialist interest in working with people who have Long Term Conditions and run Groups to help people with this throughout the year.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
