About me
I am Edinson Quinayas-Rodriguez, a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist register with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the Black African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN), and the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (AFSP).
I am a male of British and Colombian heritage who has lived in London for over 27 years which enables me to offer Family Therapy in both Spanish and English.
I trained in London at several academic institutions, such as the Tavistock and Portman Centre, Goldsmith University, the Institute of Family Therapy, and London South Bank University.
My clinical practice is informed by racially sensitive trauma, complex trauma, Narrative therapy, Attachment theory, Family therapy and the principles of Open Dialogue.
I have over 14 years of experience of working with families and children affected from a wide range of situations, such as depression, anxiety, low mood, parents and children facing relational difficulties, parents raising children with neurodivergent needs (ADHD and Autism), and I have also had the opportunity to work with foster families.
I have honed my clinical experience through my work in different NHS Trusts, several London Local Authorities, and the Charity sector.
I have a warm, caring, collaborative, and transparence approach to work with children and families, informed and guided by the principles of Dialogical Family and Systemic Psychotherapy. This enable me to use my experience, expertise and knowledge in a humane, creative, and compassionate manner. To join you, in your unique journey to discover how to best approach your particular circumstances.
Outside my clinical live, I enjoy ridding my bike, to do physical exercises and dance salsa. Eating well and feed my whole through mindfulness practice.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
