I work with adults who may be finding life difficult for many reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, loneliness, low confidence, relationship or family difficulties, stress, loss, work pressures, caring responsibilities, major life changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure what comes next. Through my own experiences, I understand how difficult life can feel, especially when you are carrying things others may not see. I know how important it is to have a safe, accepting space where you can be honest and truly yourself. I offer warmth, compassion and understanding, listening without judgement.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor with a Person-Centred foundation. My counselling practice is informed by my professional training and ongoing development.
I have experience supporting adults through bereavement and loss, as well as working with issues such as anxiety, loneliness, difficult emotions, eco anxiety and periods of change. I believe that everyone’s circumstances are different, and I offer a space where people can talk openly without fear of judgement.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 11 years working as a self-employed childminder. This involved building strong, trusting relationships with families, listening carefully to individual needs, maintaining confidentiality and creating safe and supportive environments.
My approach is primarily Person-Centred, while drawing on a range of therapeutic ideas where appropriate. I believe that counselling should be individual to you rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, and I work with you at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am committed to continuing my professional development and working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I understand that the cost of counselling can sometimes be a barrier, so I keep a small number of spaces available at a concessionary rate. If finances are a concern, please feel free to get in touch and we can talk about what may be possible.

I also have a particular interest in Eco-Anxiety and the emotional impact of living with a changing climate. The uncertainty about what the future may hold, and the wider threats facing our environment and world, can bring feelings of fear, anxiety, grief and helplessness. For some people, these worries can become particularly difficult when they think about what the future might mean for themselves, their families and their children.
When those around us don't share these concerns, or don't understand how deeply they affect us, it can leave us feeling very alone with our thoughts and fears. Counselling can provide a space to talk openly about these feelings, where they can be heard and explored without being dismissed or judged.
