About me
Hi, my name is Donna, welcome. I am a counsellor/therapist working with you in my calm and welcoming cabin at the bottom of my garden in Rochester, Kent as well as remotely across the UK.
Are you struggling with anxiety, low self esteem or depression talking can help. Life has many challenges to face which are hard and we need to talk about them. The times in our lives where we have lost a loved one and it is hard to make sense of the feelings of bereavement. Loss and grief doesn't always come in a way we expect, it can come from any loss. The loss of a relationship, friendship or a beloved pet.
It may be that you are experiencing a difficult time with relationships, maybe you have been struggling with worries with family or a partner. I can help you to make sense of your feelings and what is happening.
I am here to help you understand and explore those difficult feelings you may be experiencing. I am non-judgemental & empathic providing a listening ear. I can help you explore your feelings freely & openly to find your own way forward. I will support, encourage & guide you to find a better understanding and compassion for yourself.
I am here to support you understand self, especially if you are neurodiverse and finding it hard to navigate your emotions.
My experience has been with many mental health problems. I am very experienced in working with adolescent's & adults alike, many of whom are neurodiverse.
I am experienced with helping those suffering with cancer, other life limiting illnesses & their families. This includes bereavement & loss as I have worked with a local Kent Hospice.
I am experienced working young people having worked within a pupil referral unit, this has allowed me to develop skills to help them to understand themselves & the world around them.
I also work with couples enabling them to communicate better with one another during difficult times.
I am a qualified, experienced counsellor & nurse which means I understand the challenges that working in the healthcare sector has been, especially over the pandemic. I also understand the challenges that living with a lifelong illness bring.
I am registered with the BACP which means I work ethically & safely for both you & myself.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information
I offer a calm, tranquil space in which you can safely explore what is happing for you. I hold face to face sessions in my cabin where it is private & we won't be interrupted.
I also offer telephone & online sessions to help if you need flexabilty as time can be short in busy lives.
