About me
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope it gives you a sense of who I am, my practice, and how I work. If you have any questions or would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch.
I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Therapist, and my approach looks beyond the difficulties we may be experiencing now to explore how our past experiences, relationships, and life events can influence how we feel, think, and relate to others today. Sometimes, we may find ourselves repeating familiar patterns or struggling with feelings that are difficult to understand. Through our work together, we can begin to make sense of these experiences, develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and explore new ways of moving forward.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in accordance with their ethical framework and undertake ongoing professional development. My training, supervised experience, broad life and work experience, and the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds have all helped me develop a deeper understanding of the different challenges we can face in life.
I believe that feeling heard, understood and accepted is an important part of the counselling journey. My aim is to offer you a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, without feeling you have to face everything alone.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Alongside my private practice, I previously volunteered as a counsellor with the mental health charity MIND, providing individual therapy. I worked with a range of clients experiencing difficulties such as depression, anxiety, abuse, stress, anger, PTSD, low self-esteem and relationship issues.
I also volunteered for three years in bereavement support at St Christopher’s Hospice. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of how grief and loss can affect us in different ways, and how important it is to have the time and space to work through these feelings in our own way.
How We Will Work Together
I want you to feel comfortable enough to get in touch with me, share your experiences and explore your feelings in a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space. I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can sometimes feel daunting, especially when you may already be struggling with difficult emotions or circumstances.
I aim to help you feel heard, understood and accepted, just as you are.
We will work together to explore what is happening in your life, helping you gain a deeper understanding of your feelings, experiences and patterns, while supporting you to find a way forward that feels right for you.
I recognise that everyone is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including humanistic therapy, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) tools. We can explore which approach feels most helpful for you and, where appropriate, I can work more specifically within one of these therapies.
For me, building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of our work together. I want you to feel able to be yourself, talk openly and explore whatever is troubling you without fear of being judged. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, whether you are looking for short-term support or a longer-term space to explore things more deeply.
Having experienced therapy myself, I understand that counselling can be both rewarding and challenging. Sometimes, exploring difficult feelings or experiences can feel uncomfortable, but it can also help us understand ourselves in new ways. Finding a renewed sense of identity, confidence and direction can be incredibly empowering, and I know how valuable it can be to have someone alongside you as you navigate that journey.
I am here to listen, help you make sense of what you are going through, and support you in finding your own way forward. You don't need all the answers before we begin, and you don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about. We can take things one step at a time, together.
Ultimately, I want our work to be shaped around you, your experiences and what you hope to gain from counselling. Together, we will find a way of working that feels right for you.
