About me

Introduction

I am qualified in CBT, psychodynamic and systemic and use these disciplines to treat anxiety, low self-esteem, panic, OCD, depression and PTSD. I predominantly work with adolescents, adults, or families. I offer face-to-face sessions from a secluded garden office in the countryside just outside Sudbury, Suffolk, as well as online video sessions.

I have experience treating clients in various settings, including the NHS, Suffolk Mind, specialist schools, and provisions.

What I Offer

I am qualified in CBT, psychodynamic and systemic and use these disciplines to treat anxiety, low self-esteem, panic, OCD, depression and PTSD. I provide a confidential space for clients to feel heard, respected, and free to explore their thoughts and emotions, learning new ways to manage complicated feelings and relationships. In addition to individual work, I offer family therapy to support families who may feel stuck in repetitive, unhelpful patterns and want to find new ways to improve their relationships and communication.

I offer structured, goal-oriented therapy focused on psychoeducation, skill-building, and behavioural change. Whether working with individuals or families, I help clients set SMART goals, reframe negative beliefs, and break unhelpful cycles using tailored therapeutic techniques.

While maintaining professionalism, my laid-back and friendly approach helps ease any uncertainty or anxiety about starting therapy. I'm happy to have an informal conversation to ensure I’m the right fit for you before you decide—no pressure!

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience

I have over nine years of experience working in various therapeutic roles, including The Wilderness Foundation, Suffolk Mind, Family Psychology Mutual, and the NHS Pulvertaft Hand Unit.
I currently work in a specialist school as a lead psychotherapist supporting young people with ADHD, autism and trauma.

Education / Training

I received a 1st Class BA Hons in Therapeutic Communication and Therapeutic Organisations from the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex. I won the Sue Kedgerees prize for the overall highest mark on the BA, a Deans of Excellence Award, and the Hannah Curtis Prize for the highest dissertation mark on the course.

I am trained and have four years of experience delivering Functional Family Therapy, an evidence-based model to support families with family breakdowns.

In 2022, I received a Postgraduate Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy from Anglia Ruskin University.

In September 2024, I received an MSc Master's degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Counselling from the University of Suffolk.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Ways of Working

In addition to my private practice, I work as a psychotherapist in an Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) secondary school.

I specialise in helping adolescents, adults, and families navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, emotional regulation, and relationship difficulties. Treatment includes evidence-based approaches like CBT, trauma-informed therapy, and systemic family work tailored to the individual's needs. Sessions focus on building coping skills, improving communication, and enhancing wellbeing.

My Approach

I tailor my approach to suit each individual or family, ensuring the most effective modality is used. Collaboration is central to my work, enabling clients to participate in their sessions actively at their own pace. I work in a neuro-affirming way, tailoring sessions to suit neurodiversity and people's needs.

My primary modality is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based and goal-focused approach that helps individuals understand and address their challenges. Attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, and systemic theory inform my practice throughout.
