How I work
My approach is based on the principles of The Human Givens. This states that as humans we have certain psychological needs and the innate resources to meet these needs. These are the “givens” of our existence. By helping you to access your own powerful, innate resources I can help you feel calmer, more confidentand more in control.

I offer a free initial conversation to find out why you are considering counselling and what you want to achieve. This is your chance to really clarify what you want from your life and it is also an opportunity for you to explore whether you feel comfortable working with me, as good rapport is important. I will give you some immediate coping strategies and show you how to relax more effectively.
Next we will begin to develop strategies that can help you to move forward, refocus your attention and build the skills you need to take charge of your life.
