I am an experienced counsellor/therapist psychodynamically trained and work with all age groups of clients, children, adolescents and adults short term or long term privately or via local authority.
I work for a private practice and can offer on-line or face to face sessions from a discreet, safe, comfortable counselling room in Milton Keynes where plenty of free parking is available.
Psychodynamic work includes work with the clients unconscious, emotions, thoughts, early life experiences, past relationships and how these affect present relationships and defence mechanisms to help relieve psychic pain.
I practise with a client centred approach using psychodynamics, solution focused counselling, creative play, use of the arts and CBT with psychoeducation where needed in trauma work.
I work with clients who have experienced trauma, complex/developmental trauma who can also exhibit PTSD symptoms. I also work with survivors of Domestic Abuse including rape and sexual violence.
I also work with Autism in all age groups with a flexible or more structured CBT approach centred around specific client needs.
I will also be able to offer to clients Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (LEAP approach) from early 2022.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the BACP with over 2000 clinical hours gathered over the last 6 years.
I have a Childrens Counselling qualification after working with Place2Be in the London area for 2 years and also a Teenager Counselling certificate from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education in London.
As an addition to the above I have Trauma training (Trauma focussed CBT and Childrens Accelerated Trauma Therapy) both under NICE guidelines for working with trauma.
I also work with Autism in all age groups helping clients to understand their strengths and difficulties that Autism brings.
I am currently studying Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (LEAP approach) which I will be able to offer to clients early 2022 as an alternative to room-based talking therapies, which takes inspiration from Native America whilst embracing the wisdom of the Horse. EFP incorporates building Body Based Awareness, Trust, Boundaries, Sense of Self, helping to build Relationships, manage Emotions and working through Trauma.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
