About me
After more than four decades of working with people across education, youth services, psychologically informed environments, and now private practice, I continue to believe that the heart of therapy is relationship.
My approach is relational, pluralistic, and grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect. Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and paced to suit individual needs.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy
I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence.
Coming to understand my own neurodivergence later in life was a revelatory experience that deepened my understanding of difference and strengthened my ability to adapt therapy to individual needs.
I recognise that neurodivergent individuals may experience the world differently — emotionally, socially, and sensorially. Therapy therefore needs to be flexible, respectful, and paced in ways that support comfort and clarity.
My work with neurodivergent clients focuses on:
Understanding emotional overwhelm
Exploring identity and self-acceptance
Supporting regulation and resilience
Working at a pace that feels manageable
Creating space free from judgement or pressure
I aim to offer therapy that feels accessible, validating, and respectful of each person’s unique way of being.

Training, qualifications & experience
Hello, my name is Debra. I am an experienced practitioner with over four decades of working with people experiencing crisis, change, and emotional difficulty. I offer a warm and compassionate therapeutic space where you can explore your emotions and experiences safely, at your own pace.
Throughout my career, I have worked across a wide range of services throughout Merseyside, supporting young people, families, and adults in complex and vulnerable situations. My experience includes working within psychologically informed environments, supporting individuals facing trauma, adversity, and life transitions across diverse communities and identities.
I work with adults and young people and have experience supporting clients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), domestic abuse, and relationship difficulties. My practice is inclusive of neurodivergent individuals and LGBTQI+ clients, recognising that identity, lived experience, and personal context shape how people understand themselves and their place in the world.
As a therapist with lived experience of neurodivergence, I understand the importance of adapting therapy to suit different ways of thinking, processing, and experiencing the world, and I aim to offer a space where difference is respected, affirmed, and understood.

Additional information
I offer a sliding scale of £35–£60 per session. The lower end of the scale helps make therapy more accessible for those on lower incomes, while the upper end reflects the standard rate for clients who are waged or in a more financially stable position.
Rather than placing clients into fixed categories, I invite you to choose the fee that feels manageable and fair for your circumstances. My aim is to keep the process respectful, flexible, and rooted in trust, so that support can be accessed without unnecessary financial pressure.
Further information
I aim to accommodate clients as best as I can, so I offer a range of ways to work together. Sessions can take place online or by telephone, and I have several in-person options. I work from a therapy space on Slater Street in Liverpool on Saturday afternoons, and I also have a welcoming home therapy space available during the week. In addition, I have access to another therapy room on Allerton Road, and on Hope Street which can be arranged as needed.
My aim is to offer flexibility, comfort, and choice - so that clients can access support in the way that suits them best.
