About me

It is a very human trait to bury problems and to leave them on the back burner thinking that we will have time to sort them out later. But all too often, they have a tendency, without us even realising, of trickling back into our consciousness, causing pain and confusion. Our lifestyles are hectic and diverse; dealing with the immediate day-to-day tasks taking priority. While tackling the underlying issues are often side-lined and overlooked until our ability to suppress them diminishes and unhappy feelings become overwhelming.

Acknowledging you need support is the first step. Finding the right resource to assist you may feel daunting, but in deciding that you need help, you have already taken the hardest decision. With the right counsellor, the next few steps willincreasingly feel like a natural progression.

I offer a free initial phone consultation to help you decide whether you feel comfortable talking to me. I believe that the relationship between you and your counsellor is the most important aspect of counselling.

I am a registered, qualified Integrative Counsellor. With a background in healthcare, I have extensive experience of working in education and private practice. My client group ranges from children as young as six to individuals of retirement age.

Each person is unique and we respond to trauma and stress very differently. Working with an integrative framework allows me to draw on a broad range of techniques and approaches to find flexible solutions for the problems and challenges you are facing. When these techniques are applied, they allow you, the client to view things differently, develop different strategies to change and manage more successfully. You will hopefully view yourself and your life in a more positive and productive way – allowing you to get the best from your life.

I work from Bromley and online, depending on my client needs. My core hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays 08:00 to 1500.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by their code of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
