About me

 About Me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with many years of experience supporting adults, children and young people through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. I work in a person-centred and solution-focused way, tailoring therapy to each individual's unique needs, pace and goals.

My approach is grounded in empathy, respect and genuine care. I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where clients feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. Together, we can explore difficulties, increase self-awareness, build emotional resilience and find practical ways forward.

Working with Adults

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you are struggling with difficult emotions, coping with loss, facing challenges in relationships, or feeling stuck and unsure of the way forward. Whatever brings you to counselling, I will work alongside you with empathy, honesty and respect, providing a safe space to explore your experiences and helping you move towards positive and lasting change.

Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect and explore what is happening for you. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment where you can talk openly without fear of judgement. Together, we can work towards a deeper understanding of your experiences, identify patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing, develop healthier ways of coping and find a path forward that feels right for you.

Working with Children and Young People

I have extensive experience working with children and young people through NHS youth counselling services, school-based counselling for children aged 7 to 18, bereavement support at the Fountain Centre at Royal Surrey Hospital, and private practice.

Children and teenagers often express emotional distress differently to adults. This may present as anxiety, anger, withdrawal, low mood, school refusal, behavioural changes, low confidence, self-harm, friendship difficulties or struggles coping with family pressures and change.

I provide a calm, trusting and supportive environment where young people can feel safe to express themselves at their own pace. When working with children and young people, I use a blend of talking therapy, creative approaches and, when appropriate, play-based techniques to help them communicate feelings, process experiences and develop confidence and resilience.

My aim is to help young people feel understood, emotionally secure and better equipped to manage the challenges they face.

How I Work

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling. Every person is unique, which is why I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs and circumstances.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or looking for help for your child, I offer a welcoming, compassionate and confidential space where you can explore difficulties without fear of judgement.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Surrey, with easy parking available, as well as online sessions via secure video call.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
