About me

Hello, my name is Debbie. I am a person‑centred counsellor dedicated to offering a safe, calm, and non‑judgmental space where you can explore whatever feels important to you. Life can present challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from ourselves, and therapy provides a gentle opportunity to pause, reflect, and understand what is happening beneath the surface.

My approach centres on you as a whole person — your experiences, your emotions, your values, and your unique way of making sense of the world. I believe that when we are truly heard and accepted without judgement, we begin to reconnect with our own inner resources and develop a deeper, more compassionate understanding of ourselves. This process can open the door to meaningful change, greater clarity, and a more fulfilled sense of self.

In our sessions, you are free to talk about your problems, thoughts, and feelings at your own pace. There is no pressure, no expectation, and no “right” way to be. My role is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, curiosity, and support as you explore what matters most. Together, we can work towards easing emotional distress, strengthening self‑awareness, and building confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.

Whether you are facing a specific issue or feel ready to understand yourself more deeply, I am here to provide a warm, respectful space where your voice is valued and your wellbeing is at the heart of our work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Do you experience overwhelming feelings of sadness? Feel anxious or worried? Are you finding it difficult to make sense of your feelings? Do you have intrusive thoughts? Is it difficult for you to find a sense of happiness or purpose? Do you find it difficult to get motivated?

Life can feel overwhelming at times. It can feel confusing and scary. You may find it difficult to connect with your emotions, with who you are, and with how you feel. You may even find it difficult to understand why you feel the way you do and what caused you to feel sad.

I can help you explore the difficulties you are experiencing, help you make sense of your feelings, and gain insight into why you feel the way you do. Through exploration, I will help you find your self-worth and own values and live a more enriched and fulfilling life.

I will give you the confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings free from judgment. I will respect your autonomy. I do not give advice or tell you what you should do. I will, however, help you find the answers to the problems you are encountering.

I have the flexibility to suit your lifestyle needs, whether you prefer to meet face-to-face, online or speak via telephone. My premises are in a quiet setting and can ensure anonymity and confidentiality.
