About me
Hello, my name is Deborah. I am a Humanistic Person-centred Counsellor, experienced in helping adults, young people and children, ASD and LGBTQ+ with diverse problems, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low confidence and trauma.
Life can feel overwhelming at times causing a great deal of stress, panic attacks and suicidal thoughts. You may find it difficult to connect with your emotions, who you are and how you feel. You may even find it difficult to understand why you feel the way you do, and what has caused you to feel unhappy.
I will give you a confidential, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I will respect your autonomy. I do not give advice or tell you what you should do. I will, however, help you find the answers to the problems you are encountering so that you can find your self-worth, and own values and live a more enriched and fulfilling life.
My values are based on the belief that everyone has the right to live an enriched and fulfilling life.

I am a qualified Humanistic Person-centred Counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I have experience in helping adults, young people and children, LGBTQ+. I help with a range of emotional and mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, self-esteem and confidence.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Do you experience overwhelming feelings of sadness? Feel anxious or worried? Are you finding it difficult to make sense of your feelings? Do you have intrusive thoughts? Is it difficult for you to find a sense of happiness? Do you find it difficult to get motivated?
Life can feel overwhelming at times. It can feel confusing and scary. You may find it difficult to connect with your emotions, who you are and how you feel. You may even find it difficult to understand why you feel the way you do, and what caused you to feel sad.
I can help you explore the difficulties you are experiencing; help you make sense of your feelings and gain an insight into why you feel the way you do. Through exploration, I will help you find your self-worth, and own values and live a more enriched and fulfilling life.
I will give you the confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings free from judgment. I will respect your autonomy. I do not give advice or tell you what you should do. I will, however, help you find the answers to the problems you are encountering.
I have the flexibility to suit your lifestyle needs, whether you prefer to meet face-to-face, online or speak via telephone. My premises are in a quiet setting and can ensure anonymity and confidentiality.
