About me

Hi, I'm Debbie, a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, based in Glasgow, delivering in person and online (Doxy / Zoom) CBT sessions.

CBT is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It's based on the concept that your feelings, physical sensations, and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle.

It helps you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way, by breaking them down into smaller parts, and showing you how to change these negative patterns to improve how you feel.

I specialise in supporting individuals with Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Trauma & Autism. I provide sessions that are empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and customized to each person.

I will work with you to understand, and break down your problems into separate parts, including your thoughts, physical feelings, actions, and work with you to positively address them.

Finding the right therapist for you can be a daunting prospect, so it is vital to find a therapist that you can connect and build a trusting relationship with, to enable you to be yourself & fully benefit from your sessions.

I offer a free 15mins phone consultation to explore your therapeutic needs more thoroughly, understand you as a person, explain my CBT methodology, and determine if we are good fit.

My schedule availability includes tea time & evening slots from Monday to Friday and select daytime slots on Fridays.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
