About me
Welcome to my profile
I am a fully Qualified BACP registered Counsellor and Holistic Therapist with twenty three years practising experience. I work within a wide range of professional settings including the NHS, a local firm of solicitors and health insurance organisations. In addition to private practice and GP referrals. I work with a wide range of people from young students within an educational establishment to professionals both inside and outside of the workplace.
My training is integrative and person centred incorporating a variation of approaches to suit the needs of the individual person. Throughout my years of continual learning and personal development, I have been led to using more of an overall Holistic approach which has proven to be successful with many problematic areas of concern, particularly stress management and health issues. This concept of approach uses a variation of techniques working with the emotional physical and spiritual self.
Life can often present us with many daunting challenges and obstacles, which can at times leave us feeling overwhelmed. I offer a confidential, non judgemental environment, in which to explore your feelings thoughts and actions. Assisting you to unravel achieve insight and gain clarity helping you to move forward with your life.
I also offer the option of Hypnotherapy using a variation of relaxation techniques and Guided Meditation to help alleviate fears, phobias and also change negative patterns of behaviour. Hypnotherapy can also assist with many areas of health issues to enhance positive therapeutic change.
I am currently based in Beverley and surrounding areas where I can provide individual and couple counselling as well as other therapies as advertised on my profile. I also, offer home visits where appropriate.

" Debbie was a friendly support through a difficult time. Her guidance and encouragement helped
me evaluate and begin to change my negative ways of thinking . Debbie was compassionate, very
easy to open up to and genuinely cared. In our sessions, with her guidance I was able to begin
to move in the direction I wanted to be in and move away from my negative behavioural patterns
and start to make positive changes
" I would like to say that the counselling I received from Debbie was very helpful. She made me feel very comfortable and safe in her presence. The whole process was completely professional but at the same time, relaxed. She helped me, I feel way beyond what was required, lending me books and offering leads for me to follow. I certainly feel that I have grown from our time together and I would recommend her to anyone."

" Debbie has been a great help to me helping me with self worth and feelings of negativity. Working with her has helped me see things from a totally different perspective and I've learnt many techniques to help me overcome things which have been lifelong problems. She is really easy to talk to and at all times made me feel comfortable and that I was worth something as person. "
"I Recently had an eight week block of counselling with Debbie, I found her very approachable, understanding, and extremely easy to talk to and open up to. I felt as though I had the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders by the end of my sessions. I never felt judged of embarrassed talking things through with Debbie, she is a lovely warm person. I would highly recommend anyone that is finding life a little hard to cope with and any situations difficult to face, she is the person to help and suggest things to do to help deal with stuff that people are finding a challenge. I myself would like to become a counsellor and I found Debbie an inspiration and someone who I would like to aspire to."
"I have had some counselling with Debbie to help me. I am so pleased that I went, without Debbie's help I do not think I would be here today as she has helped me get through a really rough patch in my life and how to cope with the loss of my Mum and Dad. Debbie has also helped me with a few other issues with anxiety and stress of work. I always felt really comfortable talking to Debbie as you never felt daft what you want to say and always came up with the right answers. I am so so thankful Debbie for all the love and support you have given me to get through the rough and bad times, you are a lovely person and it has been a great pleasure to meet you. Thank you once again I really do appreciate what you have done for me."
"I had counselling with Debbie through my employers and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. In that time we talked through issues I had but Debbie also taught me techniques which are still helping me, even now after our sessions have finished. I found the sessions very valuable and would recommend Debbie to anyone, whether you are having problems in the workplace or at home, Debbie really helped me."

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
