About me
Hi, I’m Deborah.
You may be someone who is used to coping well: responsible, thoughtful, perhaps the one others rely on, yet recently things feel harder to manage. You might be experiencing anxiety, burnout, low mood or a loss of confidence. Perhaps work stress is building, your inner critic feels louder, or you’re navigating a health issue, bereavement or significant life change. You might feel emotionally drained, flat or disconnected from yourself. On the outside, you may look as though you’re managing, but internally, it feels overwhelming.
I work with adults and young people (16+) who are feeling the weight of pressure: whether that’s from work, relationships, caring responsibilities or their own high standards. Many of the people I support identify as conscientious, sensitive or perfectionistic, and may often feel exhausted by trying to hold everything together.
My approach combines Person-Centred Therapy with Solution-Focused techniques. At the heart of my work is creating a calm, warm and genuinely non-judgemental space where you don’t have to perform, minimise your feelings or have everything figured out. Being heard without criticism or assumption can be a powerful starting point for change.
Alongside this, I gently challenge where helpful, offering different perspectives, helping you recognise patterns, and supporting you to identify and build on your existing strengths. Therapy with me is both reflective and practical: a space to explore what’s beneath the surface, while also developing manageable steps that feel realistic and sustainable in your life.
Clients often come to me when anxiety is affecting their sleep or concentration, when burnout is spilling into relationships, or when a health diagnosis or life change has shaken their sense of stability. Together, we work at a steady pace to untangle these experiences, regain clarity and perspective, and move forward without losing yourself in the process.
I work UK-wide via video and telephone, offering both short-term and open-ended counselling depending on your needs. If you’d like to explore whether we might work well together, you’re welcome to visit my website for more information about how I work and what to expect from a session.

MA Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
